What makes a person give into peer pressure? Maybe its because the person just wants to look cool and feel like they belong in a particular group. Personally I think that people who give into peer pressure are not leaders they are the followers. Being a follower to me is not the person to be because they do give into peer pressure. This also means that they do not think for themselves and that they would do almost anything that a group of people would do in order to fit in. The leader on the other hand is the person that is going to resist the peer pressure. I believe that this person will be a more successful than the follower. I think this because the leader will put their priorities in order from what they care about to what they care about the least. So what kind of person do you classify yourself as a leader or a follower?

I was kind of wondering why people are so greedy that they would claim their own skin. All people are just looking for a way to get rich quick, and that is why people started to claim their skin and other parts as property. You would think that if they just got a little recognition that they would not care on how their skin is used. Some people just do not realize that there is more to life than money and fame. Don't get me wrong it would be cool to have a lot of money and to be famous, but people just take the whole thing over board. I also understand that people get jealous when they see that a doctor made some money off of that person's cells. Maybe its because people are jealous and greedy in nature. People are always looking for a handout and in a way its kind of what they are doing when they claim there skin as property.

Exhausted

Today I had my first big chemistry test and I honestly could not give you an estimate of how I did on it. I spent a lot of my time yesterday studying for it, but I do not know how much that actually helped. It is as though I studied a lot of the material that I did not even need. While I was preparing for the test, I am not going to lie, I was kind of nervous and scared. I was like this because I really did not know what to expect. I also went blank on the test. So I hope that I made a good grade but we will see when I get the test back. Now this week I am bombarded with all kinds of work that has to be done. I am really exhausted from all the work that I have had to do and from all of the studying. I cannot wait till fall break. Maybe I will actually get to rest.

So this weekend I went to Phi Mu Alpha's national founder's day. For those of you who do not know what Phi Mu Alpha is then i will tell you. It is a men's music fraternity that is geared for becoming a better brotherhood and to promote music education, and just music in general. There is a lot that I do not know about the fraternity, but I am learning. Also during the weekend the fraternity decided to go to a nursing home and sing to the elderly people. We began the day with like a two hour music rehearsal. During this time I got to meet with other people in Phi Mu Alpha that are from different schools. After we got done with the rehearsal we went and sang at the nursing home. I honestly do not think that I can sing so I was really nervous. I am more of an instrumentalist rather than a vocalist. So you could imagine that i was having some difficulty with this task. After we were done singing we went around to the audience and talked to them for a minute. They were really pleased with the performance. This made me feel really good because we made them happy with our music.

good days bad days

It has been said that a person has good days and bad days according to a pattern. People say that these sequences of good and bad occur on a sine or cosine curve, and the patterns start as soon as your born. It is fascinating that you could even think that sequences of good and bad events fall on such a pattern as this, but then again how could anyone ever prove that they occur in this manner. Also to say that you could predict your bad and good days is kind of absurd. Yeah I believe that you can predict some of them based on how people around you act, and on tuition. However, I do not believe that it can be predicted with mathematical and scientific means.

I just had a really bad scare tonight. One of my friends called me while I was doing my homework, and asked me to come and have someone drive me to the warehouse where she has cheer practice. As soon as I heard her voice I knew something was wrong. I really knew that something was wrong when she asked me to come pick her up and to drive her car back to campus. When I got there I found out that her nose had gotten broken and that she could not drive. She was telling me that she is probably going to have to get surgery. She also has told me that she has already had the operation once before. So now another friend and I are sitting in her room so we can make sure she is ok until her mom gets here. This is a prime example of how cheer leading can be dangerous, and for people to say that it is not well look at how many people get injured from it.

I think that education can act as an instrument to integrate the younger people of a generation into the logic of the current times, and also as a way for people to be intellectually free. Education is a way for people to advance mankind. It has given mankind way for us to build upon the knowledge of other people, which allows them to advance society. This has given the human race new technologies that have made life a little bit easier. Education has also enabled mankind to understand more about the natural world. Without education mankind would regress, resulting in numerous lifestyle changes. One of these changes could possibly be a shorter life expectancy.
